Gardiesfauld Hostel is on Unst, the most northerly of the Shetland Isles.
The island has spectacular cliffs, sculpted by the Atlantic Ocean on the west and secluded, golden, sandy beaches on the east with rocky outcrops where seals and otters appear.
The Gulf Stream provides a moderate climate and the clean peaceful setting offers an invigorating chance to relax in a community where crime is unknown.
During the summer enjoy long hours of daylight and the twilight of the “simmer dim” while in winter the long nights provide the backdrop for a vibrant cultural life.
Situated on the picturesque shore at Uyeasound, this refurbished hostel combines superb facilities with a relaxed atmosphere.
There is a kitchen, dining room, lounge, conservatory, coin operated laundry, showers (coin operated) and rooms with ensuite facilities. Caravans and tents welcome, caravan hook up facility planned for 2010.
